(Archived) – June 11, 2024 – SEMINAR – INSIGHT #3  “Ideas For Repairs-New and Old”

We welcome Denis Brassard who will be giving a technical presentation entitled “Ideas For Repairs-New and Old”. This will be held on June 11th, 2024 at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. Denis has worked for the University of Western Ontario in London, The Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, the Potsdam campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) and finally at the University of Montreal. He is an experienced concert piano technician who also is innovative in his approach to piano care maintenance. We are sure you will benefit from his presentation which will be very practical for servicing instruments in a variety of concert and non-concert settings. Although the presentation will be in English, as you know, Denis is conversant in both official languages. So please feel free to field any questions to him in our Q & A portion of the program in either language.
We will be conducting the meeting on Zoom. The one-time attendance fee is $35 which can be applied toward the annual fee of $99 should you wish to become a Member of CAPT/ACAP and enjoy a full year of subsequent presentations without paying extra for them. Thank you and we hope to see you at Denis’s presentation.

(Archived) April 23, 2024 – SEMINAR – INSIGHT #2 – an online panel discussion led by Jurgen Goering of Nanaimo, BC on succession planning and retirement … April 23, 2024; 8:00PM EDT (Toronto). Please adjust for the time zone in your location.

What are your plans for retirement? Are you hoping to stop working altogether or are you planning to slowly reduce your work schedule in moving toward retirement? Are you retired already? Is there a way to evaluate what your business is worth at retirement? What suggestions can be employed now to increase the value of our business? For example, can we take advantage of the present piano glut and build a piano rental inventory? Are you training or mentoring someone to eventually take over the business?
